Child Care Provider (Child with special needs) - Private Home

Employer: Private household (JM Family), Senneville, Quebec H9X 1T3 Location of work: Senneville, Quebec (on site; not a remote position) Terms: Term/contract, full-time, 30 hours per week. Language of work: English or French Duties: - Supervise and care for three children in the family home, including a child on the autism spectrum who requires consistent routine, structure and specialized behavioural support - Plan, prepare and supervise age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities; organize games and outings - Prepare and serve nutritious meals; - Assist with daily routines - Take children to and from school and to appointments - Keep records of daily activities and health information; tend to the children's emotional well-being - Travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision - Light housekeeping and cleaning, laundry (wash, iron, press), shopping for food and household supplies; maintain a safe and healthy home Experience and specialization: - Experience caring for children with special needs, specifically children on the autism spectrum Requirements: - Education: College/CEGEP certificate or diploma (1- to 2-year program) or similar - Experience: 5 years or more in in-home childcare - Languages: English or French - Criminal record check; references required - Physically demanding; able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) - Personal suitability: client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, patience, honesty Work environment and setting: - Employer's home; non-smoking; scent-free - Optional live-in accommodation at no charge is available but is not a condition of employment - Public transportation is available Who can apply: Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
